Nimco Adam is a visionary fashion and technical designer whose work bridges sustainability, culture, and storytelling. She has honed her craft across women’s, men’s, and children’s wear—designing for both luxury houses and global retail markets. Her expertise lies in guiding garments from concept to production with a seamless blend of creative artistry and technical precision.
Nimco’s impact extends far beyond design. She has contributed to the UNEP Eco-Innovation Manual (2021–2022), served as an expert consultant for the UNEP Global Stocktaking Report on Circular Textiles (2020–2021), and contributed to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Circular Design for Fashion (2020–2022), attending its celebrated book launch in London.
In 2019, Nimco was an exhibitor and panelist at the Sustainable Innovation Expo during the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi, where she presented on circular fashion and women’s empowerment. As an ambassador for Tukatech, she introduced cutting-edge 3D fashion technology to the African market bridging innovation with accessibility. Through her initiatives, Nimco has trained and empowered women across East Africa in tie & dye and sustainability programs, creating pathways for income generation. Rooted in cultural storytelling, her advocacy brings forward African perspectives on sustainability and circularity traditions that have existed for generations while shaping a future where fashion serves both people and planet.
