Jerald Johnson is an independent fashion designer based in Los Angeles. Jerald’s combined education, experience, and involvement in international education with womenswear design efforts are evident in his prior employment. His former employers include VINCE, HAUS OF GREY, FABLETICS, PAIGE DENIM, NOT YOUR DAUGHTER’S JEANS, 7 FOR ALL MANKIND, MAIDENFORM, BROOKS BROTHERS, JONES APPAREL GROUP, PJ SALVAGE CO., VICTORIA’S SECRET PINK, and his mentor Mrs. Marie Gray from ST. JOHN KNITS, further evidencing exposure to a diversity of merchandise and apparel manufacturing philosophies. Jerald has developed solid vendor resource skills obtaining varied fabrics, trims, findings, and outside treatment, and he communicates easily with related design personnel regarding fit/construction issues, and can provide viable feedback or solutions/problems to 1st and production patternmakers and sample sewing operators. He is knowledgeable of draping, patterning, and sewing; focusing on fine fitting, well-made upscale merchandise.
