Valdavia Ellis is originally from Chicago, but she is a resident of the globe. Valdavia’s passion for fashion started with paper dolls and Barbies. When there were no dolls to design and hand-sew clothes for, she drew and traced 2D clothing ensembles. With maturity, came the frustration of “playing dress-up” and she decided she wanted to become a fashion designer by the end of high school.
Valdavia took a slight detour into the field of architecture when her parents were disappointed about her fashion design focus; but passion trumped pleasing her parents after 3 years of studies. Valdavia transferred to the College of Fine Arts to study Fashion Design at Howard University and never looked back.
