The Black Design Collective accepts membership applications once per year. The application period for 2024 is: May 1-31. Please read below for info on membership benefits and the application review process.

Application Review Process
- Complete the appropriate online application below.
- Upon submission of application, you will receive notice that BDC received your application. Please note the membership application review time frame is approximately 30 days.
- Once an application is approved, member will be sent a welcome email that will outline next steps and the membership fee payment method.
Types Of Memberships
Professional Designer
$150
* Must have experience in the fashion, costume, accessory or textile design field
* Must have a store front or online store
Affiliate
$150
* Photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, videographers, graphic designers, press/media, pattern makers, illustrators, fashion show directors, etc.
* Affiliate must complete application process.
* Affiliate must work in the fashion or costume industry.
Student
$50
* Must be currently in high school, college, university or trade school
* Able to provide references from teachers / instructors
* Must be currently enrolled in or interested in enrolling in an accredited program in fashion, costume, accessory or textile design
