The Black Design Collective accepts membership applications once per year. The application period for 2024 is: May 1-31. Please read below for info on membership benefits and the application review process.

Application Review Process

  1. Complete the appropriate online application below.
  2. Upon submission of application, you will receive notice that BDC received your application. Please note the membership application review time frame is approximately 30 days.
  3. Once an application is approved, member will be sent a welcome email that will outline next steps and the membership fee payment method.

Professional Designer
$150

* Must have experience in the fashion, costume, accessory or textile design field

* Must have a store front or online store

* Photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, videographers, graphic designers, press/media, pattern makers, illustrators, fashion show directors, etc.

* Affiliate must complete application process.

* Affiliate must work in the fashion or costume industry.

* Must be currently in high school, college, university or trade school

* Able to provide references from teachers / instructors

* Must be currently enrolled in or interested in enrolling in an accredited program in fashion, costume, accessory or textile design
