Cassandra Bromfield’s first job in the fashion industry was an assistant designer for a dress company. She then moved on to production pattern maker for two lingerie companies before striking out on her own to independently run her own company, Cassandra Bromfield’s Company. Simultaneously, Cassandra also freelanced for a number of years with Audrey Smaltz and the Ground Crew, a backstage management company that staffed fashion shows for 7th on 6th, Fashion Week, and MTV as well as fashion photo shoots and more.
Cassandra Bromfield’s Company primarily began custom designing wedding gowns and special-order dresses. The company now focuses on vintage and culturally inspired Ready to Wear for today’s independent fashionable woman. Many of Cassandra’s designs include patchworked fabrics that she has created for everyday wearable luxury. One of her garments has been exhibited at the Museum of the City of New York. The patchwork gown is embellished with fabrics, buttons, and ribbons from family heirlooms that are sewn into the dress.
